RIG and RC Meeting at Binus University Alam Sutera Campus

On March 24, 2023, Research and Technology Transfer organized a meeting at Binus University Alam Sutera Campus, with the purpose of discussing the roles and responsibilities of the Research Interest Groups (RIG) and the Research Center (RC) at Binus University. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Ph.D. as the meeting speaker and several RIG Leaders and RC Heads from various fields.

The meeting aimed to provide a clear definition and understanding of the RIG and RC at Binus University, which will help to facilitate the research activities and technology transfer initiatives. The RIGs are groups of researchers with similar research interests, who collaborate on research projects and contribute to the research culture of the university. On the other hand, the RC is a unit that focuses on a specific research area or field, and is responsible for managing the research projects, resources, and activities within the unit.

The meeting participants included RIG Education Technology, RIG Photonic and Computer Systems, RIG Consumer Behaviour and Digital Ethics, RIG Waste-Food-Environmental Nexus, RIG Quantitative and Decision Sciences, RIG SMEs, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, AI Research and Development Center, Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center, and Food Biotechnology Research Center. Additionally, the meeting was attended by Research Strategy and Policy Manager, Dr. Nurlina, M.M.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Ph.D. explained the importance of RIGs and RCs in the research culture of Binus University. He highlighted that these units are essential for promoting research excellence, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting technology transfer initiatives. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of effective communication and collaboration between the RIGs and the RCs, to ensure the success of the research projects and initiatives.

Furthermore, the RIG Leaders and RC Heads presented their research areas, achievements, and ongoing research projects. They also discussed the challenges they face in their research activities and the support they need from the university to overcome these challenges. They suggested that the university should provide more resources, such as research grants, funding, and equipment, to support their research activities.

Overall, the meeting was productive and informative, providing a clear understanding of the RIGs and RCs at Binus University.
