The goal of this research is to learn the folktale Timun Emas which relates to the process of the enviroment. The elements of fiction in this folktalethe settingwill be the clues in relating the nature and the human which is part of ecocriticism. This research has the earth centered approach to literary studies to see how nature is represented in this foktale, what role of the physical setting plays in the plot, the values expressed in this folktale, how metaphor of the land influences the way human treats it, how the concept of wilderness has changed overtime, in what way literacy itself has affected humankind relationship to the natural world, as well as to analyze the interconnections between culture and nature, specifically the cultural artifacts of language and literature, understanding the ethical system and use it to reform them. The result of this research is used to make correction of the relation between human and nature which is based on the values contained in this folktale.
