Abstract
Furnitureis an inseparable part of interior design. A space has a certain meaning and function as thefurniture has purposes based on the user needs. In the era of covid-19 outbreak, furniture design has to adapt to support health protocols that implement a new normal that prioritizes health and maintain physical distance in one area. Designing furniture that applies sustainable design is the idea that will be translated through applying bio-material as part of the design. This research will focus on furniture design that found in restaurant area in a hotel, ergonomic and anthropometric aspect as well as the material produced from natural processes to create a furniture design that supports the spirit of bio-design. The purpose of this research is to increase the awareness of the designers in order to create an environmentally friendly design. The research results will be used forenrichment material for Interior Design commercial and hospitality: Hotel project course. Hopefully, the new standard in applying new normal consideration in furniture design can become a reference for students in interior and furniture design in planning a hotel interior project.
