Abstract
Losses during postharvest operations due to improper storage and handling are enormous and can range from 20-50 percent. The purposes of this research are to utilize polymeric materials for edible coating and film materials to develop functional materials by adding essential oils and nanoparticles (organic and inorganic), and to apply these materials to fruits and vegetables. The research on the design of environmentally friendly nanocomposite coatings using Indonesian indigenous materials.
