Abstract
Gender-based entrepreneurship is an emergent area of discussion within the domain of entrepreneurship development in Indonesia. Women entrepreneurs in Indonesia differ from their male counterparts and face several challenges that are linked to education levels, family responsibility along with socio cultural and political schema. The role of women entrepreneurs in Indonesia has for long been recognised with encouragement from important stakeholders such as the government through participatory bodies such as the Women Business Association (IWAPI) formed as early as 1975, and Indonesias commitment to SDG, where women empowerment is one of the key goals, yet there is very small body of literature which examines this area. Engaging through a quantitative study of 100+ Islamic Women Entrepreneurs (IWE), this study intends to understand the research objective of identification of factors that influence the business performance of IWE with focus upon Religion and further examine the significant relationship between the identified factors
