WILDCAT: hybrid WIfi and Lifi-baseD indoor localization systems for effective physiCAl disTancing during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract
In this document, we propose a hybrid WIfi and Light-fidelity (LiFi)-baseD indoor localization systems for effective physiCAl disTancing during the COVID-19 pandemic (WILDCAT). Specifically, WILDCAT offers automatic monitoring and notification systems that are planned to accompany existing manual approach in imposing physical distancing measures currently. By combining both WiFi and LiFi, advantages, such as high accuracy; high reliability; and zero startup cost, can be attained due to the fact that many public venues have been equipped with many WiFi access points and lighting infrastructure in indoors. In this proposal, we detail our motivations, objectives, and methodologies in realizing WILDCAT.
