Abstract
A quite positive development in the world of tourism is the emergence of awareness of protecting the environment. Environmentally friendly programs are starting to be applied by several hotels. As written in the Tourism Act No. 10 of 2009 which requires every tourism entrepreneur in Indonesia. In other parts of the world, the environmentally friendly movement in hotels continues to increase. Hotels that run environmentally friendly practices get many benefits such as operational cost savings, good image, and more value from the guests. But in practice there are many obstacles that are found. In addition to being felt to be more expensive, many hotels and communities are also less aware of the importance and benefits of environmentally friendly practices.
