Abstract
Purpose- The purpose of this research is to examine the compliance of the amusement park and zoo in Jakarta towards the accessible tourism standard from UNWTO. Methodology- This is qualitative research with explorative analysis method. Primary data was collected from direct field observation and interview. Field observation will be conducted during February to June 2019 using observation guidance and observation checklist. Interview will be conduct with both open and closed- ended questions. The Jakarta Tourism Board website was used as main reference to obtain which tourism objects that was selected. The research objects are chosen from attractions criteria, specifically in nature and family attraction category. Refer to the list, the objects are scattered all around Jakarta area, thus only object that located inside Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) that will be included as this research object. Another object located inside TMII that are not listed in the Jakarta Tourism website are also considered as research object. Research will be conducted in two places; TMII and Ragunan, with five tourism classifications; 33 regional pavilions, 18 museums, 9 recreation parks, 9 flora fauna and 4 sections at Ragunan Zoo. Expected Findings- The result will provide intensive description refer to accessible tourism and accessible information that are classified into 13 variable; parking area, signage, elevator, public telephone, public toilet, pricing, printed material, digital document, audio-visual content, website, mobile apps, self-service terminals- mobile devices and signage. Value- This research contributes to quality improvement of the Amusement Park and Zoo as two of the tourism industry to assure that it can be accessed by everyone in regard to attract more visitor and offer a strong value proposition.
