Abstract
A one-size-fits-all General English instruction often fails to meet adult learners specific language needs in the work place. Consequently, the field of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) emerged to address the language and conventions needs of different disciplines and professions. This study aims to to investigate the most frequent used vocabulary, expressions, English skills in the academic operations staffs daily communication in BINUS, to examine the current available materials and determine whether those materials suit the needs of their needs, and to develop learning materials that suits the needs of academic operation staff in BINUS. Employing a qualitative descriptive research, this study uses questionnaire, observations, and semi-structured interview sessions with academic operaction staff at BINUS University. Utilizing Braun and Clarkes (2006) sixphase approach, the thematic analysis is employed to analyse the desired data collected in the study.
