Abstract
ICT has been applied for language teaching in higher education in general. However, since the different context of universities, lecturers might not use ICT in language teaching completely for their level of digital literacies. This research is aimed to explore the different context of General English teaching in two universities in Jakarta, to find out the type of ICT used by the lecturers in both universities to teach General English, to find out their digital literacies based on the ability to find, evaluate, create and communicate the content of teaching by applying ICT tools and to find out the lecturers digital literacies differences and similarities in both universities. A triangular method of data collection is applied in the research. A questionnaire consisting of closed and open questions will be distributed to each 20 lecturers from both universities and 5 of each will be chosen randomly for interview to seek the more detail data. The data then will be analyzed qualitatively. The result is hoped to give explanation in detail yet to give the suggestion to what developments need by the lecturers to cope need of digital literacy in teaching General English.
