Advancing Semiconductor Technology: AI Integration and Collaborative Research at BINUS and Trisakti University
The Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC) of BINUS University, in collaboration with Trisakti University and BINUS ASO School of Engineering, organized a significant academic event held across multiple campuses: BINUS University Anggrek Campus, Trisakti University, and BINUS ASO School of Engineering. This event saw participation from esteemed institutions and was graced by notable figures in academia. Among the key invitees were Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, M.Si., Vice Rector of Research and Technology Transfer at BINUS University, Prof. Bens Pardamean, M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of BDSRC, Dr. Arief Suriadi Budiman, MS. from BINUS Industrial Engineering, Ir. Yosica Mariana, M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng., Head of Program, Product Design Engineering at BINUS ASO School of Engineering, and Dr. Endang Djuana, MEng. from Trisakti University’s Electrical Engineering department.
The event commenced with a detailed seminar by Dr. Derrick Speaks from Arizona State University, titled “Linking AI and Semiconductors: Design, Doping, Defect, and Failure Modes.” Following this, Dr. Rachel Speaks from the Oregon Institute of Technology delivered her insightful presentation on “Fabrication Processes for Superconductor and Semiconductor Devices.” Their talks set the stage for an in-depth discussion on the intersection of artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology, exploring innovative approaches and potential advancements in the field.
The highlight of the event was the discussion on “Crack Catcher AI,” a research collaboration initiated by Dr. Arief Suriadi Budiman from BINUS Industrial Engineering, Dr. Derrick Speaks, and Dr. Endang Djuana from Trisakti University’s Electrical Engineering department. This collaborative effort aims to harness AI technologies to improve the detection and analysis of defects in semiconductor materials. The event spanned three days, with sessions held on 30 July 2024 at Trisakti University, and continued on 31 July and 1 August 2024 at BINUS ASO School of Engineering. The participation of BINUS ASO representatives and teams from BDSRC further enriched the collaborative atmosphere, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and expertise among the attendees.
