Coordination Forum for Advancing Research and Innovation in Semarang

The Coordination and Synchronization Forum for Research and Innovation in Semarang for the 2024–2027 term has been established under the Mayor of Semarang’s Decree No. 000.9.2/1007 of 2024, signed by Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu. This forum serves as a strategic body aimed at advancing research and innovation in alignment with the city’s development priorities. The Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer at BINUS University has been appointed as the Coordinator for Community Engagement within the forum.

The forum’s primary responsibilities include gathering public aspirations to inform policy development on research and innovation in Semarang. It provides critical data to support policymaking processes in urban development planning. Additionally, the forum fosters synergy among education, research, innovation, and community development activities, ensuring they align with regional development priorities or the roadmap for research and innovation to address pressing urban challenges.

To ensure the forum’s effectiveness, it is mandated to conduct at least one technical coordination meeting on research and innovation policies annually at the city level. The forum’s outcomes and recommendations are reported directly to the Mayor of Semarang, ensuring that its contributions are integrated into the broader governance framework.
