Empowering Innovation: BINUS University and AI Excellence at the 2024 AI and Robotic Innovation Expo

The AI and Robotic Innovation Expo 2024, held at Pluit Village Mall in North Jakarta from October 17 to 27, 2024, spotlighted groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics. Organized by PT. Sari Teknologi Global in collaboration with IAIS (Indonesia AI Society) and APTIKNAS, the Expo attracted thousands of visitors, including global tech firms, start-ups, government representatives, and academic institutions. With its grand opening on October 22, officiated by gubernatorial candidate Pramono Anum and key DKI Jakarta officials, the event underscored Indonesia’s rising prominence in tech innovation. Representing BINUS University, Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Technology Transfer Specialist, highlighted the university’s commitment to bridging academia with industry advancements, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in technological progress.

One of the event’s highlights was the AI Competition, which celebrated the creativity and expertise of participants from diverse educational backgrounds. Among 11 semifinalist teams, Team Aeriths from BINUS University, guided by Dr. Indrajani, secured first place, showcasing their excellence in AI development. Another notable event was the AI Robot Driven Competition, where Team Code Crafter from PT. BCA Tbk triumphed among four semifinalist teams. These competitions not only emphasized the Expo’s role in fostering talent but also highlighted BINUS University’s dedication to empowering students and advancing cutting-edge research in AI and robotics.
