From Research to Publication: Crafting High-Quality Books in Social Sciences and Humanities
On October 3, 2024, BINUS University organized an online workshop titled “Transforming Research into Books: Strategies for Quality Social Sciences and Humanities Publishing.” This event was a collaborative effort between the Research and Technology Transfer Office (RTTO) and Binus Corporate Learning and Development (BCLND), aiming to guide faculty members on effective techniques for turning their research into well-recognized, high-quality publications.
The workshop featured Prof. Dr. Shidarta, S.H., M.Hum., who shared insights on transforming research findings into engaging books, focusing on social sciences and humanities. Special attention was given to the importance of visual storytelling, encouraging participants to present research outcomes in creative infographics that enhance accessibility and comprehension. The workshop highlighted practical strategies for aligning academic content with publishing standards.
Notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer, and Prof. Dr. Dra. Clara Herlina Karjo, M.Hum., Subject Content Specialist in Applied Linguistics, both of whom underscored the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in scholarly publishing. The workshop provided an excellent platform for BINUS faculty members to develop their expertise in academic writing and publication, fostering a culture of knowledge dissemination through high-quality books.
