BINUS University Hosts ICCSCI 2026 to Foster Human-Centered and Inclusive Innovation

The 11th International Conference on Computer Science and Computational Intelligence (ICCSCI 2026) was held on 18–19 June 2026 at BINUS @Medan, Delipark Mall, Medan, North Sumatra. Under the theme “Fostering Human-Centered and Inclusive Innovation for a Digitally Empowered Society“, the conference brought together academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge and explore collaboration opportunities in computer science, computational intelligence and information technology.

Pre-Conference Seminar Sets the Stage

Ahead of the main event, a Pre-Conference International Seminar featured Jae Hyeon Park, Ph.D. (Lecturer Specialist, BINUS University – School of Computer Science), who discussed “Stable Embedding Based Kalman Filters for State Estimation of Systems Defined on Manifolds“. The session gave participants early insights into recent developments in computer science and technology.

Opening Ceremony: Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration

The Opening Ceremony began with Welcoming Remarks from Dr. Mochammad Haldi Widianto, S.T., M.T., Chairman of ICCSCI 2026, who welcomed the keynote speakers, academics, researchers and participants, and emphasized the conference as a platform for knowledge sharing, research dissemination and collaboration in computer science, computational intelligence and information technology.

This was followed by Welcoming Remarks from Prof. Dr. Ir. Derwin Suhartono, S.Kom., MTI., Dean of School of Computer Science, Bina Nusantara University, who highlighted ICCSCI as a platform for sharing research findings and the latest technological developments, while encouraging participants to broaden their insights and explore collaboration opportunities.

The ceremony continued with Welcoming Remarks from Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., M.Si., the Vice Rector of Bina Nusantara University, who underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation and technology utilization in responding to rapid digital developments.

The Opening Ceremony was closed with Welcoming Remarks from Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., the Rector of Bina Nusantara University, who emphasized the role of technology, innovation and collaboration in addressing challenges of the digital era, encouraging participants to build collaborations toward inclusive, human-centered and impactful innovation.

Keynote Sessions: Diverse Perspectives on Technology and Innovation

Three keynote speakers shared their insights:

• Jae Hyeon Park, Ph.D. discussed human-centered, inclusive innovation in the digital transformation era.
• Prof. Poltak Sihombing, Ph.D. (Universitas Sumatera Utara) offered an academic perspective on computer science developments and opportunities for inter-institutional collaboration.
• Prastudy Fauzi, Ph.D. (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) brought an international perspective on research and cross-country academic collaboration.

A Program for Knowledge Exchange and Networking

Beyond the opening and keynotes, ICCSCI 2026 featured Panel Discussions, Parallel Sessions, and Technical Sessions across multiple rooms, allowing researchers to present their work, exchange perspectives and discuss topics relevant to the conference theme.

Research Presentations Encourage Discussion

During the Parallel Sessions, presenters shared their research background, methods, findings and implications, followed by Q&A sessions that encouraged constructive feedback and networking among researchers from various institutions.

Advancing Human-Centered and Inclusive Innovation

Through this series of activities, ICCSCI 2026 provided a space for academics and practitioners to exchange knowledge and engage in discussions on the latest developments in computer science, computational intelligence and information technology, in line with its mission to advance innovation that is both technologically driven and responsive to societal needs.
