Seminar Recap – Empowering Academics Through Intellectual Property Awareness

Kegiatan “Pengenalan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual & Potensinya Sesuai Bidang Keilmuwan” dilaksanakan pada 30 Juni 2025 di Ruang M2B, BINUS Kampus Syahdan. Kegiatan ini menghadirkan Desri Fatimah Natalia T., S.E., M.I.Kom (Commercialization Officer BINUS RTT) dan Yohanes Albert Kembarenta, S.A.B. (Commercialization Staff BINUS RTT) sebagai pembicara yang memberikan pemahaman mendalam mengenai konsep, jenis, dan manfaat Hak Kekayaan Intelektual (HKI) bagi sivitas akademika. Melalui sesi ini, peserta mempelajari cara menyiapkan dokumen pendaftaran HKI, mengidentifikasi potensi karya yang dapat didaftarkan sesuai bidang keilmuan masing-masing, serta memahami ketentuan HKI dalam konteks kemitraan industri, kolaborasi riset, dan komersialisasi produk berbasis inovasi.

The seminar “Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights and Their Potential Across Disciplines” was held on June 30, 2025, at Room M2B, BINUS Syahdan Campus. The session featured Desri Fatimah Natalia T., S.E., M.I.Kom (Commercialization Officer BINUS RTT) and Yohanes Albert Kembarenta, S.A.B. (Commercialization Staff BINUS RTT), who shared valuable insights into the types, distinctions and inherent rights within Intellectual Property (IP). The event served as a platform for faculty members and researchers to better understand the relevance of IP protection in their respective academic and professional domains.

Throughout the session, participants learned practical steps for preparing IP registration documents and identifying potential products or innovations eligible for IP protection based on their disciplines. The speakers also elaborated on the importance of understanding IP regulations in academic–industry partnerships, including research collaboration and commercialization processes. This initiative aimed to empower academics to transform their intellectual outputs into legally protected assets that contribute to innovation and national development.
