Strengthening Tourism Human Resources: Collaboration Between the Ministry of Tourism and BINUS University
BINUS University menjalin kerja sama strategis dengan Kementerian Pariwisata pada 25 April 2025 guna memperkuat kapasitas SDM pariwisata. Kolaborasi ini mendukung pengembangan riset, transformasi digital, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat, sejalan dengan visi BINUS sebagai Kampus Berdampak dan mitra utama pembangunan sektor pariwisata berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

On 25 April 2025, the Deputy for Resources and Institutional Affairs of the Ministry of Tourism formalized a collaboration with BINUS University through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership is designed to strengthen human resource capacity in the tourism sector, aligning with national efforts to enhance the quality and competitiveness of tourism professionals. The signing ceremony marked a significant step toward fostering closer academic-government cooperation in strategic areas of resource development.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and attended by key representatives from both institutions. From the Ministry, Ir. Martini Mohamad Paham, M.A., the Deputy for Resources and Institutional Affairs, represented the government. BINUS University was represented by Vice Rector Research and Technology Transfer BINUS University, Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., and Community Empowerment Manager, Retno Dewanti, M.M., Ph.D. Prof. Juneman emphasized that this initiative aligns with BINUS University’s vision of “Fostering & Empowering the Society” and its #KampusBerdampak movement, which positions the university as a center for innovation, a driver of digital transformation, and a promoter of community-based entrepreneurship.
This collaboration underscores the importance of academic institutions as key partners in national development, particularly in the tourism sector. By leveraging BINUS University’s research expertise and community engagement initiatives, the Ministry of Tourism aims to create innovative programs that support sustainable tourism development and empower local communities.
