Strengthening Global Academic Collaboration: BINUS University and the Embassy of Italy Discuss Research Partnerships

On March 14, 2025, BINUS University participated in a meeting hosted by the Embassy of Italy in Jakarta to explore potential collaborations with top universities in Italy. The event was led by His Excellency Roberto Colaminè, the Italian Ambassador, and attended by key representatives from both the embassy and BINUS University. Among the notable participants were Prof. Roberto Carniel, Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy; Mr. Romero Sinaga, Expert Staff; and leading figures from BINUS University, including Vice Rector for Collaboration & Global Engagement (CGE), Dr. Rini Setiowati, MBA, and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., Vice Rector Research & Technology Transfer (RTT).

The discussion focused on fostering academic partnerships through collaborative research initiatives and specialized events. Several BINUS research leaders, including Dr. Risa Rumentha Simanjuntak (D-Lab), Dr. Ir. Edy Irwansyah (Geo-Eco AI), and Dr. Fitya Syarifa Mozar (Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center), explored opportunities for interdisciplinary studies with Italian institutions. Additionally, the meeting addressed the potential for knowledge exchange and academic mobility programs that could enhance international research visibility for both BINUS and its prospective Italian partners.
