Enhancing Research Translation: British Council ISPF Workshop in Indonesia
On 11 March 2025, the British Council Indonesia, in collaboration with the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF), organized the Research Translation Workshop. The event aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen research and development capacity, and establish long-term partnerships between research networks in Indonesia and the UK. The workshop is part of the British Council’s broader initiative to enhance research translation and foster international academic collaboration.

The workshop commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer at BINUS University, emphasizing the significance of research translation in higher education. Dr. Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department, delivered a keynote address, highlighting key challenges and opportunities in translating academic research into practical applications. The event gathered key stakeholders, including Muhaimin Syamsuddin, Head of Education at the British Council, Dr. M. Fauzan Adziman, Ph.D., Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, along with representatives from universities and the British Council team.
By bringing together experts and researchers, the workshop provided a platform to discuss strategies for enhancing the impact of academic research beyond academia. The presence of Dr. M. Fauzan Adziman underscored the government’s commitment to advancing research translation as a national priority. The initiative reflects the British Council’s dedication to fostering cross-border collaboration and capacity-building in research and innovation. Through continued engagement, the program seeks to bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation, ultimately contributing to sustainable advancements in science and technology.
