Collaborative Efforts in Building a Comprehensive Housing Database: BINUS University and DPRKP DKI Jakarta

BINUS University, in collaboration with the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP) of DKI Jakarta Province, conducted an event on March 6, 2025, focusing on the Housing Database Collection Program. This program aims to strengthen the accuracy and integration of housing data across Jakarta through the introduction of key initiatives such as the Affordable Homeownership Program, the SIRUKIM application, and national housing programs by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The event took place at Hotel Menara Peninsula, providing a platform for government officials, academic experts, and community representatives to engage in dialogue about Jakarta’s housing data ecosystem.

The event featured opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer at BINUS University, and Kelik Indriyanto, Head of the DPRKP DKI Jakarta. The press conference included discussions on the program’s objectives, expert insights from urban planners, perspectives from the Governor’s transition team, academic contributions to data collection, and viewpoints from local government representatives. Key speakers included representatives from DPRKP, prominent urban planner Ir. Nirwono Joga, and academic leaders from BINUS University, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gunadarma, and community leaders from Palmerah, Kalideres, and Semper Barat.

The program attracted participation from a wide range of stakeholders, including senior academic representatives from Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Pancasila, and Institut Sains dan Teknologi Nasional, as well as faculty members and professors from BINUS University. Several key officials from DKI Jakarta’s regional government, including the Head of Bappeda, the Head of the Regional Secretariat’s Government Bureau, and the Head of the Environment and Development Bureau, were also present. This collaboration highlights the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement in developing reliable housing data and underscores the vital role of academia in supporting evidence-based policymaking for urban development in Jakarta.
