BINUS University Celebrates Excellence at Anugerah Talenta Unggul Habibie Prize 2024
BINUS University actively participated in the esteemed Anugerah Talenta Unggul Habibie Prize 2024, held at the BJ Habibie Building on November 11, 2024. Representing the university, Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Technology Transfer Specialist, attended the 25th anniversary of this prestigious award. The Habibie Prize recognizes and celebrates outstanding contributions to intellectual and scientific advancement in Indonesia. This year’s theme, emphasizing collaboration and sustainability, underscores the critical role of science and technology in national development, echoing the legacy of BJ Habibie. The event serves as a powerful reminder that Indonesia’s future hinges on nurturing and empowering its talented individuals to address global challenges and create a sustainable future.
The ceremony honored five distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions. Prof. Ir. Felycia Edi Soetaredjo (Widya Mandala Catholic University) received the award in Basic Sciences for her innovative approach to water remediation using biomass and clay. In the Engineering field, Prof. Brian Yuliarto (ITB) was recognized for his groundbreaking work on porous nanomaterials for sensors and energy applications. Prof. Bachti Alisjahbana (Unpad) was awarded in Medicine and Biotechnology for pioneering self-diagnosis methods for infectious diseases. Prof. Anita Lie (Widya Mandala Catholic University) was honored in Social Sciences for her dedication to transforming education. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Amin Abdullah (UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta) received recognition for his multidisciplinary approach to studying religion and culture.
