Strengthening global innovation: BINUS University’s visit to NTU Singapore
On November 6-7, 2024, BINUS University embarked on a pivotal benchmarking visit to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore as a part of their latest Initiative Project (GR650). The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., M.Si., Vice Rector of the Research and Technology Transfer Office, included key figures such as Elioenai Sitepu, PhD, the lead of the Initiative Project and Commercialization Section Head, along with Tommy Prayoga, M.Psi. the Downstreaming Section Head, as well as representatives from the Infrastructure Development Office (IDO): Ir. Ferry Herdyanto, M. Const., Mgt. as The Director, and Anastasia ST as Supervisor Architect.
The visit was designed to foster collaboration and gain insights from one of the world’s leading institutions in innovation and entrepreneurship. BINUS representatives were warmly welcomed by NTU’s leadership, including Prof. Louis Phee, Vice President of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Lydia Wong, Executive Director of INSPIRASI, and other senior figures. The delegation explored NTU’s campus, learning about its innovative ecosystem and the remarkable transformation that has made NTU a global leader over the past 30 years.
As part of the visit, BINUS shared its vision through a presentation on the BINUS Techno Park and its comprehensive Technology Transfer Ecosystem. In turn, NTU highlighted its strategies for driving innovation and entrepreneurial success, providing valuable inspiration for advancing BINUS’s initiatives. The delegation also toured NTU’s Innovation Port which showcased cutting-edge research and development.
Discussions during the visit opened the door to exciting potential collaborations, particularly with NTU’s College of Computing and Data Science. Both institutions expressed a keen interest in exploring joint research in artificial intelligence, signaling a promising pathway for future innovation.
