Building Solutions through Quad Helix Collaboration: Technology Transfer for a Golden Indonesia 2045
On October 31, 2024, BINUS University’s Research and Technology Transfer held a dynamic forum titled Penciptaan Ekosistem Transfer Teknologi untuk Indonesia Emas 2045 (Building the Ecosystem of Technology Transfer for Golden Indonesia 2045 with AI) at BINUS @Alam Sutera Campus.The forum highlighted the importance of Quad Helix or across-sectors collaboration, between the academics and industries, in supporting the insurgence of Artificial Intelligent (AI) to further support more innovation in technology, especially in industries in Indonesia. This event brought together over 250 participants from academia, industry, and students to emphasize the need for Quad Helix collaboration in supporting AI-driven technological innovation for Indonesia’s future.
The forum featured several notable speakers, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Amarulla Octavian, M.Sc (Vice Head of the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency), Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Faiz Syuaib, M. Agr (Director of Research, Technology, and Community Service of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology), Laksma TNI Arif Badrudin M. Mgt. Stud (Vice Governor of the Indonesian Naval Academy), and Mr. Irawan Harahap (CEO of Digital Tech & Development of Sinar Mas Land). Also present were Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., Rector of BINUS University, and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham S.Psi., M.Si., Vice Rector of the Research and Technology Transfer Office at BINUS University, who greeted the speakers and participants. Ir. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, S.T., M.T., PhD. (Technology Transfer Specialist of BINUS University), moderated the discussions throughout the sessions.
Appreciation for organizing the event to Prof. Dr. Lim Sanny, M.M., Director of BINUS Alam Sutera Campus, Tommy Prayoga, M.Psi., Downstreaming Section Head, Hilda Farida, S.P., M.Sc., Research Enrichment Section Head, Syarli Annisa Noorsyablina, S.Hum., Downstreaming Officer, and Gita Rahmaningsih, S.Si., M.K.M., Research Enrichment Officer. Each speaker shared innovative ideas highlighting the current state of their fields and how collaboration between researchers and industries can address existing challenges. The forum concluded with a commitment from all parties to strengthen the Quad Helix collaboration model. In the future, BINUS University plans to hold regular events that promote interaction among academia, industry, government, and communities to accelerate the commercialization of research results and develop competent AI talent in Indonesia, contributing to the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision through sustainable technological advancement
