Innovative Breakthroughs at BINUS Indo Pacific Forum: Research & Industry Expo Showcases Cutting-Edge Solutions

The BINUS Indo Pacific Forum, held in Bali, on August 28-29, hosted a Research & Industry Expo that highlighted the groundbreaking work of 12 researchers from BINUS University. These scholars, representing diverse fields such as photonics, robotics, food technology, biotechnology, and computer science, showcased a total of 18 innovative research products. Notable researchers included Dr. Rinda Hedwig, Leader of the Research Interest Group in Photonics and Computer Systems, Winda Astuti, Ph.D., in Automotive and Robotics Engineering, and and Dr. Diana Lo, Ph.D., Head of the Food Technology Department at BINUS University. Their collective efforts demonstrated a broad spectrum of technological advancements that addressed key challenges in healthcare, manufacturing, and education.

Among the showcased innovations were the Chromebook Digital Library (Chromebook PusGita), Low Sugar Edible Crystals, Low Sugar Marshmallow, and advanced healthcare technologies like the Non-Invasive Kidney Disease Detector and Intelligent Embedded Stethoscope Systems for automatic identification of peristaltic and lung diseases. Other prominent innovations included AI-powered telemedicine solutions like NuMed AI and DriveWave, as well as the BeeCo natural cleaning products, low-sugar food alternatives, and the Digisthetic Finger—an advanced digitally cosmetic prosthetic. These products illustrated BINUS University’s commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that enhance both individual quality of life and industrial efficiency.

Mr. Stephen W. Santoso, President of BINUS Higher Education & Professional Services, and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., Vice Rector Research and Technology Transfer were also at Research & Industry Expo of BINUS Indo Pacific Forum. In addition to presenting these innovations, the expo fostered opportunities for further research collaborations with prestigious international institutions. Partnerships were discussed with the Ministry of Investment (Indonesia), Apple Academy, Microsoft, and various universities across Southeast Asia and Australia, including Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, University of Melbourne, and Mahasarakham University. The event underscored BINUS University’s dedication to expanding its global research network and accelerating the impact of its innovations across industries and borders.
