BJIC 2024: Advancing Global Collaboration and Sustainable Innovation at the International Conference on Biospheric Harmony (ICOBAR)
The Binus Joint International Conference (BJIC) 2024, a prestigious academic gathering, brought together five integrated conferences, reflecting the cutting-edge advancements in various disciplines such as engineering, computer science, game application, business, management, social sciences, and the arts and humanities. Among these, the International Conference on Biospheric Harmony (ICOBAR) stood out, held as a hybrid event in Bali and online on August 28-29, 2024. This conference, now in its 6th edition, centered on the theme of “biospheric harmony,” emphasizing the need for humanity to coexist sustainably with the environment. The event saw participation from around 250 scholars, including BINUS faculty members and academics from other universities.
ICOBAR 2024 was meticulously organized by the Research and Technology Transfer division of BINUS University. The conference was inaugurated with opening speeches by Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., CSCA, the Rector of BINUS University, and Dr. Noerlina, S.Kom, M.M., Senior Manager Research Office BINUS University. The ICOBAR Committee was led by an esteemed Advisory Board, featuring Dr. Nelly and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, with Dr. Noerlina serving as the Chair. Supporting roles included Co-Chairs Associate Professor Dr. Nanthakumar Loganathan from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Co-Technical Chairs Dr. Syauqi Abdurrahman Abrori and Brilly Andro, S.Kom., MTI, M.Sc., both from BINUS University.
In conjunction with BJIC 2024, a Panel Discussion on Sustainable Future was held, featuring prominent speakers such as Dr. Nur Afny Catur Andryani, Dr. Marko S. Hermawan, and Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., with each session moderated individually. The event also included the BINUS Youth Ambassador Workshop, further enriching the conference experience. Additionally, the BINUS Indo-Pacific Summit was conducted simultaneously, led by Prof. Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, Ph.D., Advisor for Collaboration and Global Engagement at BINUS University, underscoring BINUS University’s commitment to fostering global academic collaborations.
