Strengthening Academic and Research Collaboration: UTAR Delegation Visits BINUS University

On their recent visit to BINUS University, a delegation from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia, led by Professor Ts. Dr. Faidz Abd Rahman, engaged in discussions focused on ongoing and potential new collaborations. Representing BINUS University were several esteemed members, including Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, M.Si., Vice Rector of Research and Technology Transfer, Dr. Nesti Sianipar, M.Si., Head of the Food and Technology Research Center, Andrea Stevens Karnyoto, Ph.D., Senior Researcher at the Bioinformatics and Data Sciences Research Center, and Ir. Diana Lo, S.TP, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM, Head of the Food Technology Department. This meeting marked an important step in fostering deeper academic and research ties between the two institutions.

From UTAR, the delegation comprised notable figures such as Professor Ts. Dr. Faidz Abd Rahman, Vice President of Research & Development and Commercialization, Professor Ts. Dr. Lim Yang Mooi, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Associate Professor Dr. Choong Yuen Oon, Deputy Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research. They were joined by Assistant Professor Dr. Eddy Cheah Seong Guan, Chairperson of the Centre for Biomedical and Nutrition Research, Assistant Professor Dr. Ong Yit Thai, Chairperson of the Centre for Environment and Green Technology, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nadya Supian, Chairperson of the Centre for Modern Language and Literature. These representatives brought a wealth of expertise and a collaborative spirit to the discussions.

The visit commenced with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, M.Si., from BINUS University, followed by a welcoming address from Professor Ts. Dr. Faidz Abd Rahman of UTAR. The primary agenda of the meeting revolved around discussions on research collaboration, staff exchanges, and student exchange programs, aiming to enhance the academic and research capabilities of both universities. Following the discussions, the delegation was given a tour of BINUS University’s facilities, providing them with insights into the institution’s infrastructure and research capabilities. This visit is expected to pave the way for a robust partnership, driving innovation and academic excellence.
