Science Without Borders: Mastering Interactive Infographics for Research Presentation
On August 8, 2024, BINUS University hosted an engaging training session titled Science Without Borders: Presenting Research with Interactive Infographics. The session was led by Ir. Diana Lo, S.TP, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM, a distinguished expert in the field. Organized by the Research and Technology Transfer division and Binus Corporate Learning and Development, the event took place at BINUS University’s Anggrek Campus. The session opened with a keynote speech from Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, M.Si., Vice Rector of Research and Technology Transfer at BINUS University, setting the tone for a day focused on the intersection of science and visual communication.
The training was designed to equip participants with essential skills in graphic design, specifically tailored for enhancing the aesthetics and effectiveness of infographics. Participants were guided through the principles of basic graphic design, learning how to transform complex data into visually compelling narratives. Ir. Diana Lo provided insights on creating infographics that not only engage viewers but also convey research findings with clarity and impact.
Furthermore, the session emphasized the ethical considerations in using visual assets for infographics. Participants were encouraged to reflect on the importance of ethical practices in their visual presentations. By the end of the training, attendees were expected to possess the skills to present their research through various engaging and informative infographics, making their work accessible to a broader audience.
