Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between BINUS University and SuperMap at GISTC 2024

The Geospatial Intelligence Software Technology Conference (GISTC) 2024, held on June 25-26 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, marked a significant milestone for BINUS University. The event saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Research Interest Group (RIG) Geospatial of BINUS University and SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. The MoU focuses on collaborative research in Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (AI). Representing BINUS University at the signing ceremony was Ir. Andry Chowanda, MM, Ph.D., the Head of the Computer Science Department, while Evelyn Sun, General Manager of SuperMap, represented her company.

The signing of the MoU was a highlight of the GISTC International Forum 2024, underscoring the strategic partnership between BINUS University and SuperMap. Although the leader of the RIG Geospatial, Dr. Ir. Alexander Agung Santoso Gunawan, M.T., could not attend in person, he was ably represented by Ir. Andry Chowanda, M.M., Ph.D. This collaboration aims to advance research and development in geospatial AI, leveraging SuperMap’s cutting-edge technologies and BINUS University’s innovative research initiatives. This partnership is expected to yield significant contributions to the field and provide valuable insights for future geospatial AI applications.

In addition to the MoU signing, BINUS University had the opportunity to showcase its expertise through a presentation delivered by Fabian Surya Pramudya, MT., Ph.D., the Subject Content Coordinator. His presentation, titled “Utilization of SuperMap Technologies in BINUS’ Multidisciplinary Research Interest Group (RIG) for Student Enrichment Programme,” highlighted how BINUS integrates SuperMap technologies into its research projects to enhance student learning and development. This presentation not only emphasized BINUS University’s commitment to interdisciplinary research but also represented Indonesia’s contributions to the global geospatial intelligence community at the conference.
