Meeting to Forge Research Collaboration Between BINUS University and the Indonesian Navy

On July 4, 2024, a significant meeting took place involving Dr. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, a Technology Transfer Specialist from BINUS University, and Commodore TNI Teguh Prasetyo, S.T., M.Soc.Sc., Head of the Research and Development Division of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL). The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and explore potential research collaborations between BINUS University and the Indonesian Navy. Both parties expressed their enthusiasm for leveraging their respective expertise to foster innovation and advance technological developments in areas critical to national security and defense. Additionally, the Research and Development Division of the Indonesian Navy (Dislitbang) operates two laboratories located in Jakarta and Surabaya, providing robust facilities for research and testing.

Dr. Wijaya emphasized the university’s capabilities in cutting-edge technology and innovation, while Commodore Prasetyo highlighted the Navy’s commitment to enhancing its research and development efforts. As part of the meeting, Dr. Wijaya toured the Jakarta laboratory, where he was shown various products developed by Dislitbang, including torpedoes and mine-clearing devices. This collaboration aims to integrate academic research with practical military applications, ultimately contributing to the nation’s technological advancement and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
