Fostering Academic-Industry Collaboration: BINUS University and Thales Indonesia

On June 26, 2024, BINUS University hosted a pivotal meeting with Thales Indonesia, aimed at fostering collaborative initiatives in various fields. The discussions centered around potential partnerships in research endeavors, internship programs, global classroom initiatives, and guest speaker engagements. Participants included Audrey Ducher, Thales’s Marketing Advisor, and Eldayanti, their Business Development Specialist. From BINUS, representatives from Collaboration & Global Engagement, Global Class, and BINUS Research actively contributed to the dialogue.

Thales, a multinational company with a focus on aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity, brings a wealth of expertise to the table. In Indonesia, Thales is a leading supplier in the realms of SIM cards and cybersecurity, particularly within the banking sector. Both parties expressed enthusiasm about the potential synergies that could emerge from joint research projects and internship opportunities. The Global Class initiative was also identified as a promising avenue for knowledge exchange, aiming to enrich student learning experiences through industry-relevant insights and practices.

Looking ahead, BINUS University and Thales Indonesia are poised to formalize these discussions into concrete collaborations at the earliest opportunity. This partnership seeks to not only enrich educational experiences but also to cultivate a mutually beneficial relationship that fosters innovation and professional development within the Indonesian academic landscape.
