Exploring Educational Collaboration: BINUS University and Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Discuss Support for Indonesian Citizens in Japan

On June 28, 2024, a delegation from BINUS University met with representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. The delegation from BINUS University included Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Ph.D., the Vice Rector for Collaboration and Global Engagement; Dr. Nurlina, M.M., the Research Office Senior Manager; Brilly Andro Makalew, S.Kom., M.T.I., the Research and Empowerment Digital Specialist; and Dr. Syauqi Abdurrahman Abrori, the International Publication Section Head. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for educational cooperation, particularly in providing education to Indonesian citizens residing in Japan.

Representing the Indonesian Embassy were His Excellency Mr. Heri Akhmadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan; Mrs. Gina Aghnia Virginianty, the Second Secretary for Economic Affairs; and Prof. Amzul Rifin, Ph.D., the Head of the Education and Culture Section. The discussions centered on how BINUS University could support and enhance the educational needs of the Indonesian community in Japan. This included potential programs and initiatives that could be implemented to improve access to quality education for Indonesians living abroad.

The meeting highlighted the commitment of both BINUS University and the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo to strengthen educational ties and support the Indonesian diaspora. By leveraging BINUS University’s expertise and resources, the collaboration aims to foster a more robust educational framework for Indonesian citizens in Japan, ensuring they receive the necessary educational support to thrive in a foreign country. This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance global engagement and cooperation in the field of education.
