Enhancing Research Capacities: BINUS University Visits University of Tokyo for Strategic Collaboration
On June 26, 2024, a delegation from BINUS University conducted a benchmarking visit to the University of Tokyo, Japan. The BINUS University team included Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Collaboration and Global Engagement; Dr. Nurlina, M.M., Research Office Senior Manager; Brilly Andro Makalew, S.Kom., M.T.I., Research and Empowerment Digital Specialist; and Dr. Syauqi Abdurrahman Abrori, International Publication Section Head. Their visit aimed to explore potential research collaborations and opportunities for enhancing research capacities.
The delegation was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Aziz Muhammad from the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo. Dr. Aziz Muhammad, who heads the AZIZ LAB focusing on Clean Secondary Energy, facilitated the discussions. The primary topic of discussion was the collaborative research opportunities that could be leveraged between BINUS University and the University of Tokyo, specifically within the AZIZ LAB. This included potential projects, resource sharing, and capacity-building initiatives for BINUS University’s researchers.
The meeting also delved into strategic discussions aimed at strengthening institutional ties and fostering a robust exchange of knowledge and expertise. Both parties expressed a keen interest in developing a framework that would allow BINUS University researchers to access the advanced facilities and resources at the University of Tokyo. This collaboration is anticipated to significantly enhance the research capabilities of BINUS University’s academic community, contributing to both institutions’ goals of advancing scientific research and innovation.
