BINUS University Conducts Comparative Study Visit to Tokyo Institute of Technology
On June 25, 2024, a delegation from BINUS University conducted a comparative study visit to the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. The team was led by Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Vice Rector for Collaboration and Global Engagement at BINUS University, and included Dr. Nurlina, Research Office Senior Manager; Brilly Andro Makalew, Research and Empowerment Digital Specialist; and Dr. Syauqi Abdurrahman Abrori, Head of the International Publication Section. The visit aimed to enhance research processes, organizational structures, and explore potential collaborations between the two institutions.
The delegation from Tokyo Institute of Technology comprised Prof. Kunihiko Takamatsu, Professor for Institute Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Shotaro Imai from the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support; and Assoc. Prof. Sayaka Matsumoto, Associate Professor for the Institute Management Office of Strategy and Planning. The agenda included a guided tour of the Tokyo Tech Museum and Archive, providing valuable insights into the institution’s history and achievements. This was followed by a comprehensive discussion on benchmarking research processes, organizational structures, and research centers, as well as exploring the potential for cooperation between BINUS University and Tokyo Tech. Additionally, they discussed the Indo-Pacific Forum organized by BINUS in Bali.
The visit concluded with a luncheon, fostering informal discussions and further strengthening the ties between the two institutions. This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to advancing academic and research excellence, promoting mutual growth, and enhancing international partnerships. The exchange of knowledge and best practices during this visit is expected to contribute significantly to the strategic goals of both BINUS University and the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
