BINUS University and Gakushuin University Collaborate on Student Exchange Programs

On June 28, 2024, a significant meeting took place between representatives of BINUS University and Gakushuin University in Japan to discuss collaborative efforts related to student exchange programs, both inbound and outbound. This meeting included esteemed participants from both institutions, reflecting the high level of commitment towards fostering global educational partnerships. From BINUS University, Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, Ph.D., Vice Rector Collaboration and Global Engagement, Dr. Nurlina, M.M., Research Office Senior Manager, Brilly Andro Makalew, S.Kom., M.T.I., Research and Empowerment Digital Specialist, and Dr. Syauqi Abdurrahman Abrori, International Publication Section Head, were in attendance.

Gakushuin University was represented by a distinguished team including Masafumi Ishii, a Member of the Advisory Council and a former Japanese Ambassador for Indonesia; Prof. Takako Hikotani, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Daichi Yanamoto, Ph.D., and Prof. Koji Kubo, the Director of the International Center, alongside Mamiya Akase, Head of the International Center. This collaborative dialogue aimed at enhancing the exchange of students, providing them with global exposure and diverse academic experiences. The discussions highlighted the mutual benefits and the commitment of both institutions to provide quality education and international opportunities for their students.

Additionally, the agenda at Gakushuin University included presentations and experience-sharing sessions by current and former exchange students. These sessions were designed to offer insights into the benefits of participating in such programs, fostering a better understanding of the academic and cultural advantages of studying abroad. The meeting underscored Gakushuin University as the alma mater of Prof. Dr. Tirta N. Mursitama, further strengthening the ties between the two universities and their shared vision of promoting global education and student mobility.
