The First BINUS Summer School on Artificial Intelligence 2024: Advancing AI for a Better Future

The 1st BINUS Summer School on Artificial Intelligence 2024, held on 25 June 2024 at BINUS University, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to advancing AI education and research. The event featured a welcome speech by Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., the Rector of BINUS University, represented by  who emphasized the importance of AI in addressing contemporary challenges. The program also included presentations by notable figures such as Dr. Derwin Suhartono on the AI Program at BINUS University and Prof. Dr. Widodo Budiharto on AI Research Direction, highlighting the university’s strategic approach to integrating AI into its academic framework.

Among the esteemed invitees were Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, M.Si., Vice Rector Research and Technology Transfer,  Lili Ayu Wulandhari, S.S.i., M.Sc., Ph.D., a Data Science expert, and Dr. Dina Fitria Murad, a dedicated lecturer and researcher. Dr. Nur Afny Catur Andryani and Diah Wihardini, Ph.D., also contributed their expertise, underscoring the collaborative effort to advance AI knowledge and application. This prestigious event, organized by the CoE of Humanitarian AI and Technology at BINUS University, aimed to explore recent trends in AI and Generative AI, particularly their impact on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussions were designed to provide students, lecturers, and researchers with a thorough understanding of both theoretical and ethical aspects of AI.
