Binus Research at The Launch of Thermo Fisher Indonesia
On 24 April 2024, Binus University was honored to attend the grand launching of Thermo Fisher Scientific Indonesia, hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia. The event was marked by a memorandum of understanding signed with Mandaya Hospital and the National Battery Research Institute. It gathered many experts in the biotech and sustainability fields, including Prof. Ir. Puji Lestari, Ph.D., Head of the Air and Waste Management Research Group at Bandung Institute of Technology; Dr. Cynthia Retna Sartika, M.Si, Director of PT Prodia StemCell Indonesia; and Prof. Evvy Kartini, Founder of the National Battery Research Institute.
Representing Binus University, Mr. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, ST., MT., Ph.D., and Tommy Prayoga, M.Psi, had the opportunity to discuss potential collaborations with Prof. Evvy Kartini and explore the state of scientific research in academic settings across the country. Additionally, a casual coffee chat was also held with Krishna Kodoth, Director of Commercial, Southeast Asia & Taiwan and Sachin Kohli, Senior Director of Southeast Asia and Taiwan at Thermo Fisher Scientific, about the general state and trends in the biotech industry. Deep appreciation to the embassy and Thermo Fisher Scientific Indonesia for the invitation and forward looking to further discussions about fostering innovation in the country collaboratively.
