Applying NVIVO in Mixed-Methods Research: Enhancing Analytical and Visualization Techniques

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, BINUS University Anggrek Campus host a seminar titled “Applying NVIVO in Mixed-Methods Research,” featuring esteemed speaker Marko S. Hermawan, SE., Ak., MIB., Ph.D., CA., CPMA, ACPA, CertDA. The event commenced at 09:30 AM, providing an insightful session for researchers and academics interested in enhancing their research methodologies with advanced analytical tools.

The seminar aims to elucidate the application of NVivo software in scholarly article writing. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of how NVivo can be utilized to analyze various types of scientific data derived from social media, field notes, interviews, audio-visual materials, surveys, and journal articles in text format. The session covered the essential functions within NVivo that facilitate the efficient processing and analysis of qualitative data, making it an invaluable tool for researchers engaged in mixed-methods studies.

Additionally, the seminar explored techniques for scientific data visualization using NVivo. Attendees learnt to create and interpret various visual representations of their data, such as Tree Maps, Word Clouds, Concept Maps, Mind Maps, and Project Maps. These visualization techniques are crucial for presenting complex data in an accessible and comprehensible manner, thereby enhancing the overall impact and clarity of their research findings.
