Public Lecture and MoU Signing at Research and Innovation Expo 15 June 2023
Research and Technology Transfer Binus University organized Research and Innovation Expo 2023 at Binus University Alam Sutera Campus on June 15. The event aimed to foster collaboration between academia and industry, showcasing research and innovations that have the potential to drive economic growth and enhance the welfare of the Indonesian people.
A key highlight of the Expo was a public lecture by the distinguished guest, Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, the Minister of Investment and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Republic of Indonesia. Minister Lahadalia, known for his visionary approach to promoting investment in the country, delivered an inspiring public lecture emphasizing the critical role of research and innovation in supporting the national economy and improving the well-being of the population.
The public lecture shed light on the government’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to investment and entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors. He praised Binus University for its dedication to research and innovation, acknowledging the university’s significant contributions to advancing technology, knowledge, and human capital in Indonesia.
Following the public lecture, Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, representing Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board, and BINUS University Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, M.M., signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaborative agreement symbolizes a mutual commitment to harnessing the power of research and innovation to stimulate economic growth and improve the well-being of the Indonesian people.
In his address, Rector Harjanto Prabowo expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the university’s dedication to producing high-quality research and fostering an innovation-driven ecosystem. He stated, “This MoU signifies BINUS University’s strong commitment to supporting the national agenda of enhancing investment and technological development. We are eager to contribute our expertise and resources towards building a prosperous future for Indonesia.”
Research Product Expo showcased the innovative research projects undertaken by dedicated faculty members at the lobby of Alam Sutera Campus. Among the highlights was the inauguration of the Binus Joint Innovation Center (BJIC), a cutting-edge facility designed to encourage collaboration and advance groundbreaking solutions through interdisciplinary research. Additionally, a lively Panel Discussion brought together experts from academia, industry, and government to delve into crucial topics related to research and innovation. An eagerly awaited moment at the Expo was the introduction of the revolutionary BRIDGE Apps, a suite of applications developed by Binus University.
