Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights
On 14 June 2023, Binus University’s Research and Technology Transfer Office (RTTO) and Binus Corporate Learning and Development (BCLND) jointly organized a workshop titled “Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights.” The objective of the workshop was to provide Binus faculty members with essential knowledge and understanding of intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on industrial design.
The workshop took place at Binus University, and it was well-attended by faculty members from various disciplines. The organizers had invited Mr. Yoga Prihastomo, an experienced Industrial Design Examiner from the Intellectual Property Rights Directorate General under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, as the speaker for the event.Mr. Prihastomo commenced the workshop by highlighting the significance of intellectual property rights in today’s rapidly evolving world. He emphasized that protecting intellectual property is crucial for fostering innovation and creativity while enabling individuals and organizations to reap the benefits of their ideas and creations. With expertise in industrial design, Mr. Prihastomo tailored the workshop content to cater to the specific needs of the faculty members.
The workshop provided Binus University faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of intellectual property rights, specifically in the context of industrial design. The workshop fostered active participation, practical learning, and networking opportunities, further enhancing the university’s commitment to research and innovation.
