Seminar on Patent Drafting Strategies
On April 4, 2023, Binus University, in collaboration with Binus ASO School of Engineering and Binus Corporate Learning and Development, organized an informative event titled “Patent Drafting Strategy Seminar.” The seminar took place both online and onsite at Binus ASO School of Engineering (BASE) to accommodate participants from various locations.
The event aimed to achieve three main objectives. Firstly, it aimed to socialize the regulations pertaining to patent drafting, creating awareness among the participants about the legal framework and requirements for filing patents. Secondly, it aimed to explore tips and tricks for effective patent drafting, providing insights and practical guidance on how to draft strong and enforceable patent applications. Lastly, it aimed to ignite enthusiasm among the participants for patent drafting, showcasing the importance of patents as a means of protecting intellectual property and promoting innovation.
The seminar featured esteemed speakers who are experts in the field of patent examination. The speakers included Nico Endriarko Soelistyono, S.T., Yoko Setianto, S.T., M.Si., Yuristiana Yudianti, S.H., and Raden Gitta Ferindra, S.T., all of whom are experienced patent examiners from Intellectual Property Rights Directorate General Ministry of Law and Human Rights. They shared their knowledge and expertise on patent drafting strategies, providing valuable insights and practical tips to the participants.
The event was opened by Dr. Nurlina, M.M. Research Strategy and Policy, Research and Technology Transfer Office and moderated by Elioenai Sitepu, Ph.D., who is the Section Head of Research Product and Commercialization. As a moderator, Dr. Sitepu ensured that the event ran smoothly, facilitating discussions and Q&A sessions, and ensuring that the participants had a meaningful learning experience.The Patent Drafting Strategy Seminar was well-received by the participants. The seminar provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the regulations and best practices for patent drafting, equipping them with valuable knowledge and skills to protect their innovations and intellectual property effectively.
