Accelerating Indonesian Coffee Industry

Indonesia Institute of Coffee Science initiation, or we call it Institut Sains Kopi Indonesia (ISKI) in Bahasa, is a collaboration between INSTIPER Yogyakarta, Mengani Kintamani Coffee, and us, Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center of Bina Nusantara University. This institute will be designed to be an education center of the coffee industry. The knowledge given in this institute will cover from the plantation, pre-processing, roasting to the marketing of coffee. Besides, ISKI will also include AI and genomics knowledge implementation to the coffee industry.

Yesterday, on 23th of May, despite the 22th May riots, we came to the Indonesia Ministry of State Secretariat at the invitation from Mr. Teten Masduki, the Head of the Executive Officer of the President of Indonesia, to discuss ISKI development. In this meeting, Mr. Teten and his staff, present us about the coffee situation in Indonesia from the government point of view. The meeting was so fruitful of ideas and new insight for us to develop ISKI. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Teten said that he is fully supportive to our movement in developing Indonesian Coffee Industry.

We are glad and proud of our movement. And we hope we can accelerate the coffee industry in Indonesia and bring it further.
