NVIDIA DLI Workshop with the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Muslim Indonesia
On Thursday, 5 November 2026, the AI Research and Development Center (AIRDC), in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), organized an NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) workshop featuring the Fundamentals of Deep Learning course. The workshop was attended by 50 students and officially opened by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Director of AIRDC, and Herdianti Darwis, M.Eng. (Research Collaboration Coordinator at UMI). In his opening remarks, Prof. Bens Pardamean emphasized that the ultimate goal of the workshop extends beyond obtaining a certificate of competency. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training to develop a proof of concept (PoC) that could serve as a foundation for further research. Meanwhile, Herdianti Derwis, M.Eng. highlighted the importance of utilizing this opportunity to explore NVIDIA GPU technology and its capabilities in supporting the computational requirements of students’ research activities. The workshop was led by Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, M.Kom., as the NVIDIA DLI Instructor. Through this workshop, participants were expected to strengthen their practical deep learning skills and gain hands-on experience in leveraging GPU computing to support AI-driven research and innovation.
