Implementation of MoA Through Deep Learning Workshop between BINUS-Universitas Syedza Saintika

On Thursday, 30 April 2026, the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between BINUS University and Universitas Syedza Saintika officially commenced with a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Deep Learning.” This activity marked the first concrete step in translating the partnership into actionable academic and research initiatives, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence for healthcare.

The workshop was opened by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Director of the Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC), who set an engaging and inspiring tone for the session. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in addressing complex healthcare challenges and encouraged participants to actively engage in the learning process.

The workshop brought together lecturers and students from Universitas Syedza Saintika, creating an interactive learning environment that fostered knowledge sharing and academic discussion. The materials were delivered in two main sessions: Introduction to Supervised Learning by Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, M.Kom, and Preparing Datasets for AI Model Training by Mahmud Isnan, M.Eng.

Through this workshop, both institutions took an important step toward strengthening their research capacity and aligning their understanding of AI methodologies. It is expected that this initial activity will pave the way for more advanced training sessions, joint research projects, and impactful innovations in the healthcare domain.
