Deep Learning Workshop as Part of BINUS–Universitas Metamedia Research Collaboration
On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, as part of the ongoing collaboration between BINUS University and Universitas Metamedia, a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Deep Learning: How to Train Neural Networks” was successfully conducted. The workshop was attended by both lecturers and students, reflecting a shared enthusiasm for advancing knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence.
The primary objective of this workshop was to establish a common understanding of deep learning concepts while fostering collaborative discussions and brainstorming for future research initiatives. By bringing together participants from diverse academic backgrounds, the session encouraged the exchange of ideas and the exploration of potential joint research opportunities.
The workshop consisted of two main sessions. The first session covered Introduction to Supervised Learning along with a hands-on image classification for disease detection, delivered by Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, M.Kom. The second session focused on Preparing Datasets for AI Model Training, presented by Mahmud Isnan, M.Eng.
Through this workshop, participants gained not only theoretical insights but also practical perspectives on developing AI-based solutions. It is expected that this activity will serve as a foundation for future collaborative research and innovation between the two institutions.
