NVIDIA DLI Workshop at Kalurahan Giripeni: First Step Toward Smart Agrotourism

On 21st October 2025, a Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Ambassador Workshop is held at Kalurahan Giripeni, Yogyakarta. This DLI workshop is unique, since this is the first time the event has ever been held for a local government institution. The event is attended by 25 Giripeni residents and instructed by two certified DLI instructors from BINUS NVIDIA AI Research and Development Center (AIRDC): Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, M.Kom. and Matthew Martianus Henry, S.Kom. The workshop is opened by an MoA signing between both parties, in which BINUS is represented by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean as the Head of AIRDC, while Kalurahan Giripeni is represented by the Village Chief, Iswanto Adi Saputro, S.E. The signing marks BINUS University commitment in fostering and empowering community, specifically Kalurahan Giripeni through the Lumbung Mataraman integrated farm. After the MoA signing, the DLI workshop begins with an introduction to AI, specifically the importance of data for AI and how AI learn from the data. After the workshop, a brief discussion appears between the two instructors and the participants, which revolves around data support for AI implementation in Kalurahan Giripeni smart agrotourism.
