NVIDIA DLI Workshop with HIMTI BINUS @Malang

After the success of the Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Ambassador Workshop in INSTIPER Yogyakarta, the workshop continues to BINUS Malang. On 12 October 2024, Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, an AI research assistant in BDSRC|AIRDC and a certified NVIDIA instructor on the Fundamentals of Deep Learning course, embarks on another journey to Malang City as an ambassador to deliver a DLI workshop in BINUS @Malang. The workshop is a research collaboration between BDSRC|AIRDC and Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Informatika (HIMTI) BINUS @Malang. The workshop’s

theme is AI 101: Exploring Object Detection with NVIDIA Expert. In doing his duty this time, he is accompanied by Mahmud Isnan, another AI research assistant from BDSRC|AIRDC, who just certified as an NVIDIA instructor for the Fundamentals of Deep Learning course. The workshop is attended by around 40 first-year students from the Computer Science major.

The workshop is structured into three sessions, each with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning. The first session starts with the basics of Python programming language and the introduction to common libraries used for data processing, such as NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib. The second session introduces the participant to deep learning fundamentals and hands-on experience in creating a model to classify an image, either using a model developed from scratch or a pre-trained model. In the last session, the participants are involved in creating an object detection model, which is one of the applications for image processing the participants previously trained for. The event ends successfully, with grateful remarks from HIMTI BINUS @Malang.
