BDSRC-AIRDC Showcases AI Technologies at CIPHER Fest 2026

On Saturday, 12 September 2026, the BINUS Data Science Research Center (BDSRC) through the AI Research and Development Center (AIRDC) participated in CIPHER Fest (Cybersecurity and Intelligent Systems for Protection, Hacking, Engineering, and Research), organized by the School of Computer Science, BINUS University, at Mall @ Alam Sutera. The event brought together technology communities and companies to showcase their latest developments and provide the public with insights into emerging technologies without a sales-oriented focus. The expo featured two main fields, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity, each organized into three specialized “hives.” The BDSRC-AIRDC team, represented by Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, Jason Sebastian Sulistyawan, Hasri Akbar Awal Rozaq, and Rudi Nirwantono, showcased two AI technologies developed through its research activities.

The first showcased technology was Intelligent Diagnosis of Radiology Images (InDRI), an application developed to assist radiologists at Imelda Hospital in classifying four types of lung diseases and automatically generating medical reports. The team also demonstrated an Indonesian Emotion Facial Recognition system deployed on the NVIDIA Jetson Nano, highlighting the end-to-end AI lifecycle from model development to deployment on an edge device. The demonstration also highlighted the challenge of developing efficient AI models while maintaining their performance. The BDSRC-AIRDC booth attracted considerable interest from CIPHER Fest participants, including BINUSIAN and members of external technology communities, who engaged with the team to learn about the applications and technologies presented.
