Deep Learning Workshop for Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian (STIK)

On February 19, 2025, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian (STIK) held a workshop entitled “Introduction to Deep Learning for STIK” as part of an initiative to improve technological competence in the police force. This workshop aims to introduce the basic concept of deep learning and its potential application in supporting police duties in the digital era. Workshop participants comprise officers and STIK students.
The event was opened by Brigadier General Pol. Totok Suharyanto, S.I.K., M.Hum., as Deputy Chairperson of the STIK Community Service and Cooperation Division. His remarks emphasized the importance of utilizing artificial intelligence in the police force to improve efficiency and accuracy in various aspects, such as intelligence data analysis, facial recognition, and crime mapping.
As the main instructor, Mahmud Isnan, S.Kom., M.Eng., provided material on the basic principles of deep learning and the potential application of this technology in various police scenarios. The session provided insight into data processing, image analysis, and the implementation of machine learning to support investigations and decision making.
This workshop marked a strategic collaboration between STIK and Bina Nusantara University in advancing AI-driven innovations to enhance police operations. With this collaboration, it is hoped that artificial intelligence technology can be increasingly integrated into the Indonesian police force.
