Collaboration of Integrated Aquaculture 4.0 for Chana Striata
Team from Binus University, delegated by Artificial Intelligence R&D Center (AI R&D) together with Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC), in association with an albumin-based pharmaceutical company, PT Mega Medica Pharmaceutical, co-organized a national-wide meeting called Research Collaboration of Integrated Aquaculture 4.0 for Chana striata on November 18th, 2019. The event was attended by The Ministry of Maritime and Fishery, Balai Besar Riset Pengolahan Produk dan Bioteknologi KP, Genetics Indonesia (PT. GI) and university partners: Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas Sumatra Utara, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
Apart from a follow-up from Binus University’s previous research collaboration agreement with PT MMP on October 31st, 2019, the meeting also detailed the research workflow and discussed possible research participation through a series of sharing sessions and open discussion with all invited institutions and companies. The purpose of this snakehead fish research collaboration is to produce a superior breed from genetic engineering, magot organic feed, management pond with IoT system, and guaranteed purchase of products by third parties.
In this meeting, the team from AIR&D center will take part in computer vision research, in which an AI prototype will be developed to classify the type of the snakehead fish based on photographs of snakehead fishes collected from the fish farmer. The aim of this AI-based classifier is to determine which type of snakehead fish a farmer is cultivating. Moreover, it would help us to recognize the type of snakehead fish with the highest albumin content. Albumin products are known to have highly promising results for clinical use.
