Visitation and DIscussion on Artificial Intelligence Research in Singapore

On 11 November 2019, Dr. Bens Pardamean, the Director of BINUS AI R&D center and two representatives from the AI R&D center visited NVIDIA Singapore to meet and discuss with Ettikan Kandasamy Karuppiah, the Director of Developer Ecosystem, NVIDIA Asia Pacific. Two visiting scholars from the US, Dr. James Baurley and Dr. Stephen McGee, also joined the discussion. The meeting discussed various strategies to accelerate the growth of the AI research ecosystem in Indonesia. Research engagement in this direction is able to boost science and technology developments in Indonesia in order to keep pace with the recent progress in the field of AI and data science. The main point of the discussion pinpoints the importance of solid collaborations with industry that will be a key for accelerating AI research in Indonesia.

The next day, the team had an opportunity to meet with data scientists from Eureka.ai. The discussion explored a future research collaboration in the use of AI in embedding telco customer information.
